Francisco Acosta has specialized in criminal law and philosophy of law. His research has focused on legal pluralism, agency, and causality in criminal law, as well as the foundations of natural punishment. He is also interested in the sociology of law, critical theory of law and the law and literature movement. More recently, he has focused his work on the challenges of the law of the future, including, among other topics, the intersection between artificial intelligence and law.
