International advisory board
The CIDS has an International Advisory Council made up of expert researchers in various subjects of socio-legal studies. This instance seeks to integrate high-impact researchers in the definition of CIDS studies and, where possible, in collaboration in them.
The international advisory board is integrated by
Lisa Hilbink
Professor of Political Science and Human Rights at the University of Minnesota.
Her research focuses on the role of the judiciary in democracy and democratization, with a special focus on Latin America and “Latin Europe”.
Maximo Langer
Professor of law, director of the transnational criminal justice program at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
His research focuses on national, comparative and international criminal law and its procedure.
Alexandra Huneeus
Professor of Law and Director of the Global Legal Studies Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her research focuses on human rights, with an emphasis on Latin America, at the intersection of law, political science, and sociology.
Calvin Morrill
Professor of Law and Sociology at the University of Berkeley.
His research develops questions about social conflict and cultural processes in organizational contexts. He also studies institutional change and social movements, using multiple empirical methods.
Florencia Torche
Professor of Sociology at Stanford University.
Her research focuses on quantitative methods, social demography, social inequality and stratification, and the sociology of education.
Peter Cane
Professor at the University of Cambridge.
His research focuses on public and administrative law, private and contract law, and legal theory, especially on the concepts and theories of liability.
